Boris’s Fruit Shed

"If it's not fresh, it's not Boris's," is the motto for this almost 50-year-old Shepparton institution. Bulgarian-born Boris Mladenov started selling fruit from his orchard on Benalla Rd.

Now, 47 years later, his daughter-in-law Josie runs this rustic shed selling freshly picked peaches, cherries and nectarines in spring and summer, then apples and pears until autumn. In warm months, tomatoes come in from Tatura, and market gardeners bring snapping fresh beans, zucchinis, and cauliflowers. The prices are exceptionally reasonable.
